The Belly Flop is a piece inspired by our inner struggles, specifically by the internal state and the external appearance when these two are in conflict. In a broader sense it refers to the duality, what separates and unites it; it refers to the internal, the external, and that which links them. This piece is born from the collaboration with choreographer Connor Cornelius whose initial concept we developed.
It is a short electronic composition in which the first section is slow, thinner in texture, and has softer dynamics, while the second section is faster, more rhythmical, and with a bigger sound mass. After the music reaches its climax follows a short moment of “agitated repose” that leads to the ending.
